Summer Camp 2009
All of our programs, including summer camp, will remain at Burnham throughout the summer for ages 4-11! We have exciting activities and field trips planned and look forward to seeing your children. Stop by the Burnham office for a registration packet or download it here.

Burnham Pre-K and KIDS
We are not moving until the end of summer 2009. As we outlined previously, the Sylvania School district plans to raze the Burnham Building to make way for the new Maplewood School, and our Child Care Center, both Pre-K and KIDS, will move to 5900 Woodrow Drive, near Veterans Memorial Field. We’re pleased to have a little more time to prepare for the eventual move and complete the updating of our new facility.

Excitement about our new location continues to grow. The building on Woodrow Drive will be completely renovated for our use and to meet our needs, with fresh paint, new flooring, plus new and refurbished mechanical systems.

Parking, just steps from and on the same level as the front door, will facilitate parent drop-off and pick-up. There’s even a separate entrance for school bus pick-up and drop-off. A safe, shaded and fenced play area will be equipped with familiar play structures and toys. A garden is planned. And best of all, we will remain within walking distance of Sylvania city and downtown resources for field trips.

A separate Pre-K classroom and conveniences such as in-room sinks, abundant storage and adjacent bathroom also make the building child-friendly and functional. Again, we will provide more information as we get closer to the actual move date. In the meantime, we continue working to ensure a smooth, safe and seamless transition for you and your child.

E.T. (Extended Time) before and after school for Sylvan and Maplewood
Beginning August 26, 2009, Sylvan and Maplewood students will be served at our site at Highland school for both before and after school care. Sylvania school buses will transport students from Highland to their school in the morning, and from their school to Highland in the afternoon.

E.T. (Extended Time) before and after school for Stranahan
Also beginning August 26, 2009, Stranahan students will be served at our Hill View and Whiteford sites. Sylvania school buses will transport Stranahan students from Hill View to Stranahan in the morning, and from Stranahan to Whiteford in the afternoon.

E.T. (Extended Time) before and after school for Central, Highland, Hill View, Whiteford
No change. We will continue to provide before and after school care at Central and Highland, and Hill View in the morning and Whiteford in the afternoon.

All Day Programs and School Weather Delays
These programs will continue to be offered by our staff at Tam-O-Shanter beginning Fall 2009.
