About
The Sylvania Community Services Child Care Program was first introduced at the Burnham Building in 1984 and has now expanded to nine sites with locations at: Central, Highland, Hill View, Maplewood, Stranahan, Sylvan, and Whiteford Elementary Schools for before/after school child care; and at Northview H.S. and Woodrow Child Care for Preschool age children.
Sylvania Child Care is a department of Sylvania Community Services (SCS), a 501(c) (3) non-profit that has served the Sylvania community since 1976, when it was formed by the City, Township, and School Board. In that time the agency has made an impact on the lives of thousands of residents – young and old. It was originally housed in the Burnham Building and was closely identified with that location. At one time the reference to “Burnham” was synonymous with Child Care in Sylvania. And lower level rooms were used as the senior center. Now, we are located throughout the community with an award winning, nationally accredited senior center that serves 250+ older residents a day, and nine state-licensed Child Care locations that serve 300+ children per day.
All programs are Ohio licensed.
Reduced fees are available for qualifying families.
