Performing Arts


Follies Performance: The Senior Follies is a popular, annual variety show. With six months of preparation, a group of our participants come together to write, direct, and perform a wonderful comedic, singing and dancing production. This is a very popular event that benefits the center. Check our newsletter for further information.


The Joe LaConey Band: The Joe LaConey Band is an eclectic group of musicians who get together and perform in the community. New band members are always needed and welcomed. You don’t have to be the best…you just have to love music.

1st Wednesday of the month, 1 – 3 p.m. practice session in the Dining Room.

Chorus: Our chorus practices in the Great Room for community performances. There is always a need for more singers, especially male voices. The only requirement for participating is that you enjoy singing and sharing music.

Tuesday 9:45 – 11:15 a.m. in the Great Room.


Art Studio Class

Work on your own project and bring your creative ideas to life on canvas or paper with Elaine Scarvelis, Instructor.
Tuesdays & Fridays from 9 – 11 a.m.; $30 for a 4 session monthly class card, $16.00 for a 2 session class card.

Special Art/Craft Classes

Check our monthly newsletter, calendar, or call us for special art classes, such as watercolor painting, and craft classes offered periodically throughout the year.

Adult Coloring Group

For adults who love to color; from simple to more detailed pictures, using crayons, colored pencils or markers. This is an activity for any skill level, any gender! Bring your own supplies: coloring book or page, crayons, pencils, markers.

2nd and 4th Tuesdays, 1 – 3:00 p.m. Dining Room


Work on your own individual project, welcoming beginners and advanced ceramicists.

Wednesdays 9 – 11 a.m., $10 per month in the Art Studio.

Wood Carving

Work on your own projects with the help and input of fellow woodcarvers.

Tuesday 4 – 7 p.m. in the Woodshop.

Needle Crafts

Learn To Knit with Elaine Moffett

Learn how to cast on, knit and purl stitches. Bring a size 8 knitting needle and yarn. Learn the very basics to get you started and join the knitting group on Wednesdays and Fridays!

2nd and 4th Tuesdays, 10  – 11:00 a.m., in the Dining Room.

Knitting & Crocheting

Along with their own projects, this group knits and crochets blankets and other items that the center donates to various charities.

Wednesdays, 9 – 11 a.m. in the Dining Room.
Fridays, 2 – 4 p.m. in the Dining Room.


The devoted quilters of the center meet in the quilting room daily. Much of the work they do is on quilts brought in from the community. The majority of our quilters work from 8 a.m. until noon, however, the room is available during the Center’s open hours.

Open 8 a.m. – 12 p.m. Monday-Friday in the Hawthorne Room.


Another group of dedicated quilters that meet weekly to work on projects for
themselves or charity.

Mondays, 9 – 11 a.m. in the Willow Room.

Rug Hooking

Meets every 3rd Thursday of the month from 9:30 – 11:30 a.m. in the Willow Room.
